
Men’s Lacrosse Climbs National Polls

No. 7 Syracuse and No. 5 Notre Dame Battle on Saturday
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Ahead of its ACC home opener, Syracuse University men's lacrosse moved up one spot in each of the major national polls this week.
The Orange (8-2, 1-0 ACC) slotted in seventh in both the USILA Division I Coaches Poll and the Inside Lacrosse Division I Media Poll this week. Syracuse takes on Notre Dame this Saturday at 2 p.m. with the Irish sitting in fifth in both polls this week.
Syracuse picked up 402 points in the USILA Coaches Poll. Cornell was atop the poll again with 589 points and 23 first-place votes. Maryland was second with 565 points and four top selections with Ohio State earning the last three first-place votes and 534 points for third. Princeton was fourth with 514 points while Notre Dame was fifth with 480 points.
The Inside Lacrosse Media Poll had the Orange with 333 points. Cornell was first for a second week, garnering 491 points and 18 top votes. Maryland was second with 472 points and five first-place votes with Ohio State in third at 444 points and one first-place vote. Princeton was fourth with 441 points and the remaining top nod. Notre Dame with 394 points slotted in at number five.
Nine opponents on the 2025 schedule were mentioned in the USILA Coaches Poll this week: No. 1 Cornell, No. 2 Maryland, No. 5 Notre Dame, No. 8 North Carolina, No. 11 Harvard, No. 12 Duke, No. 17 Johns Hopkins, with Virginia and Colgate receiving votes.
The same nine opponents with the same rankings were mentioned in the Inside Lacrosse Media Poll: No. 1 Cornell, No. 2 Maryland, No. 5 Notre Dame, No. 8 North Carolina, No. 11 Harvard, No. 12 Duke, No. 17 Johns Hopkins, with Colgate and Virginia receiving votes.
It's a top-flight game on tap this weekend as the seventh-ranked Orange host No. 5 Notre Dame on Saturday at 2 p.m. ACC Network will have the game on its airwaves as both teams feature top five offenses and top-10 defenses.
