‘Cuse Drops Last Road Match To Notre Dame

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Syracuse women's tennis team (9-10, 2-10 ACC) were swept by the 24^th ranked Notre Dame (19-4, 9-3 ACC), losing 4-0, Sunday afternoon inside the Eck Tennis Pavilion.

The Orange entered today's match with a huge win with a reverse sweep, 4-3 against the 62^nd ranked Louisville while Notre Dame came in off a 4-1 win against Boston College on Friday, April 11.

Syracuse trailed the entire match and was unable to capture a point. Three of the six matches went unfinished when Notre Dame was declared the winner.

THE RUNDOWN

At the No. 2 doubles position, Miyuka Kimoto and Anastasia Sysoeva appeared for their 10^th time this season and were ahead in the set, 5-3 against No. 60 doubles duo Hanford and Ghosh before the match was declared unfinished.
Kimoto faced her eighth ITA ranked opponent in singles play, all expect one being at the No. 1 spot.
Rylie Hanford clinched the match for the Irish defeating Shiori Ito, 7-6, 6-3 at the No. 5 position.
Nelly Knezkova was tied 1-1 with Nibi Ghosh in the second set before it went unfinished after losing the first set 7-6. Serafima Shastova and Monika Wojcik also didn't finish their match against their opponents.
Notre Dame continues to lead the all-time series 13-5 against Syracuse.

The Orange will make an appearance in the ACC women's tennis tournament held in Cary, North Carolina on Tuesday, April 15. Time is TBA.
