
Orange Wrap Up Home Matches At Drumlins

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – After being on the road for the past four matches the No. 68 Syracuse women's tennis team (8-7, 1-7 ACC) is back at Drumlins for its last two home matches of the 2025 season.
On Friday, the Orange will compete against No. 60 Virginia Tech (11-10, 0-9 ACC) at 3 p.m. followed by Sunday's match at 11 a.m. versus No. 5 Virginia (15-4, 7-2 ACC). Both matches will be aired live on ACC Network Extra.
Sunday we will be celebrating the team's two seniors, Miyuka Kimoto and Shiori Ito, with a ceremony before the match.

Syracuse travels to Louisville, Kentucky on Friday, April 11 to face the Cardinals at 4 p.m. at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.

ABOUT THE ORANGE
- Syracuse is coming off a 10-11 campaign last spring. The Orange returned four players from last year's team this fall and welcomed two newcomers.
- Miyuka Kimoto is back for her senior year with the Orange after racking up 11 doubles and 10 singles victories in the spring. She earned her first ACC Player of the Week Award last March and was tabbed No. 24 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's (ITA) preseason singles rankings.
- Also back as a senior for the Orange is Shiori Ito, who checked in at No. 44 in the ITA's preseason doubles rankings alongside Kimoto. She has won 31 career dual singles contests and to go along with her 27 doubles victories.
- Anastasia Sysoeva returns for her second year with 'Cuse as a junior. In her debut campaign last year, she finished with a 12-6 record in singles, which included six wins against ACC opponents.
- Another returning junior for the Orange is Constance Levivier, who tallied six wins last spring across singles and doubles.
- Syracuse welcomes two fresh faces this fall - Nelly Knezkova and Serafima Shastova. Knezkova earned All-Big West Second Team honors in singles last season at Hawaii, where she played the Nos. 1 and 2 positions. In her one year at Jacksonville State, Shastova won 12 singles contests on her way to earning First Team All-ASUN and ASUN Freshman of the Year honors.
- Joining the Orange for the Spring season are two freshmen, Monika Wojcik and Haram Kim.
- Head coach Younes Limam returns for his 11th season at the helm of the Orange. Jacqueline Calla is in her second season as an assistant coach.
- The Orange fell to No. 31 Clemson on Sunday, March 23 with a 4-2 result.
- No. 107 Kimoto defeated Amelie Smejkalova winning 6-2, 6-2 at the No. 2 spot.
- Freshman Monika Wojcik added her 10th win in singles play for the Orange.
- Two matches were declared unfinished. One in doubles play and the other at the No. 4 position in singles.
SINGLES SUCCESS
- Syracuse is 48-33 in singles in its 15 matches.
- The Orange have at least seven wins at five different singles positions
- Ito has competed at four different singles positions this season while Levivier, Shastova and Sysoeva have competed at three.
- Wojcik has the team-best 10 wins in singles. Knezkova, Shastova and Ito follow with eight. All 10 of Wojcik's wins have come from the Nos. 5 and 6 positions.
- Syracuse has played 12 different doubles pairings this season.
- Shastova and Wojcik each have eight doubles wins to pace the Orange. Followed by Sysoeva with seven.
- The Orange have won seven out of 15 doubles points since losing to James Madison on Jan. 25.
- Overall, Syracuse is 21-20 in doubles play this season with 11 of 12 pairings having contributed at least one victory.
- Kimoto and Knezkova earned ACC Doubles Team of the Week on Tuesday, Feb. 25.
- Kimoto and Knezkova were ranked No. 55 in doubles by ITA alongside Shastova and Wojcick who ranked No. 74 on Tuesday, March 4.
- Syracuse freshmen Monika Wojcik and Haram Kim are 20-7 across doubles and singles this season.
- Wojcik is 10-2 in singles and has won a trio of sets with a 6-0 score.
- Kim made her college debut in the Fordham match, winning at No. 6 singles, 7-5, 6-3.
- Wojick was awarded ACC Freshman of the Week on Feb. 4 after competing against Drexel. She won her first ever three-set singles match, 6-0, 4-6, 6-2.
- The Hokies enter Friday's match with a 11-10 overall record and a 0-9 mark in ACC play but are ranked No. 60.
- Junior Ozlem Uslu ranked 35 in ITA's singles on Tuesday, April 1.
- The all-time series between Virginia Tech and Syracuse is tied 8-8. The last time the two teams met Virginia Tech won, 6-1 in 2024.
- Virginia Tech is led by six seniors, two juniors, two sophomores and three freshmen.
- Uslu and Mila Mulready each have 14 singles wins this season.
- Virginia is ranked No. 5 in the ITA rankings since April 1.
- Before Sunday, Virginia has a match against Boston College on Friday, April 4 at 3 p.m.
- The Cavaliers have defeated six ITA ranked teams, including three in the top 10 and three in the top 20.
- Virginia hasn't lost 10 matches in a season since 2016-17 when its record was 11-13.
- Three players were ranked in singles by ITA on Tuesday. Elaine Chervinsky at No. 26, Annabelle Xu at No. 30 and Sara Ziodato at No. 32
- Doubles pairing Elaine Chervinsky and Melodie Collard are ranked No.1. A different duo, Martina Genis Salas and Annabelle Xu rank at No. 37.
