
Chevarie, Baxter to Represent Team Canada This Summer

Syracuse graduates Bianca Chevarie and Maddy Baxter have been named to the Team Canada roster for the upcoming Pan-American Lacrosse Association (PALA) Women's Championship as well as the Sixes roster that will compete at the 2025 World Games in Chengdu, China.

The pair helped Team Canada to a silver medal at the 2022 Women's World Championship in Towson, Md. Baxter finished the tournament with 15 points on nine goals and six assists, while Chevarie had a goal and an assist to go along with two ground balls and two draw controls. Baxter also helped Canada win gold at the World Games.

Chevarie earned All-Northeast Region and All-ACC honors in 2024 when she helped the Orange hold their opponents to less than 10 goals in 10 games. That same season, Baxter recorded career highs in goals (30), assists (6) and points (36).

Team Canada will participate in the PALA continental qualifier along with Argentina, Haudenosaunee, Jamaica, Mexico, Peru, Puerto Rico and the United States at the Lake Myrtle Sports Complex in Auburndale, Florida from June 26-30. The top four finishers will earn spots in the Division I bracket of the 2026 World Lacrosse Women's Championship in Japan with the next three finishers qualifying for the Division II bracket.
