
Men’s Lacrosse Continues to Climb

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – After picking up another top 10 win on Saturday, Syracuse University men's lacrosse continued to climb in the polls this week.
Syracuse (9-2, 1-0 ACC) toppled No. 4/No. 6 Duke 16-15 on Saturday for the seventh top-20 win of the season and sixth win in a row.
The Orange elevated to number three in the USILA Division I Coaches Poll this week, collecting 540 points. Richmond took the top spot for the first time in its program history with 614 points and 28 top selections. This week's opponent, North Carolina, is second with 584 points and the final three first-place votes. Princeton was fourth with 510 points with Notre Dame rounding out the top five with 494 points.
Syracuse moved up two spots in the Inside Lacrosse Division I Media Poll this week, grabbing 385 points. Richmond was also number one in the media poll with 439 points and 21 of the 22 first-place votes. North Carolina was second with 414 points and the remaining top vote. Notre Dame was slotted fourth with 353 points with Princeton in fifth with 346 points.
Fourteen regular season Syracuse opponents were mentioned in this week's Coaches Poll: No. 2 North Carolina, No. 4 Princeton, No. 5 Notre Dame, No. 7 Duke, No. 8 Harvard, No. 10 Maryland, No. 11 Georgetown, No. 14 Johns Hopkins, No. 15 Penn, No. 16 Virginia, No. 20 Denver, with Boston University, Saint Joseph's University, and Colgate in the receiving votes column.
An equal number of opponents were among those listed in the Media Poll this week: No. 2 North Carolina, No. 4 Notre Dame, No. 5 Princeton, No. 7 Harvard, No. 8 Duke, No. 11 Georgetown, No. 12 Maryland, No. 14 Virginia, No. 15 Penn, No. 16 Johns Hopkins, with Denver, Boston University, Saint Joseph's, and Colgate receiving votes.
No. 3/No. 3 Syracuse heads to Chapel Hill on Saturday, April 4 for another top-five battle as the Orange take on No. 2/No. 2 North Carolina. Game time is set for 2 p.m. at Dorrance Field with ESPNU handling the broadcast.
The Orange return to the JMA Wireless Dome for their penultimate regular season game on Saturday, April 11 against Virginia with a 4 p.m. start as part of a tripleheader day with women's lacrosse and football. Syracuse will enshrine legendary head coach John Desko in its Ring of Honor at the Dome. Tickets for the remaining two home games are available at Cuse.com/lacrosse-tickets
