Syracuse (2-0-1) is back at the SU Soccer Stadium for the first of two matches with Ivy League opponents when it hosts Princeton (1-0-0) on Sunday, Aug. 23, at noon.
The Syracuse-Princeton Series
Princeton leads the series with Syracuse, 2-0-1. The two programs first met in 2003, and Princeton claimed a 3-1 decision. In the most recent match between the two, the Orange and the Tigers played to a 0-0 draw on Aug. 31, 2025.
Syracuse Status
The Orange are off to an unbeaten start after three games in 2026. Syracuse earned its most dramatic decision of the campaign on Aug. 20, a 1-0 victory at Northwestern. Sophomore Abby Incorvaia scored on a penalty kick with 58 seconds remaining in the match and the Orange held off the Wildcats. It was Incorvaia's first collegiate goal.
Fifth-year midfielder Vickie Jones leads the Orange in scoring with two goals on the season. Incorvaia has a goal and an assist, and junior defender Jasmine Nixon has a goal.
Junior goalkeeper Maya Naimoli has played all 270 minutes this season. She posted shutouts in the opener against Villanova, a 0-0 draw, and the triumph at Northwestern. She owns a 0.33 goals-against average and a .889 save percentage.
Princeton Status
The Tigers began their season by defeating Loyola (Md.) on Aug. 20, 3-0. Junior forward Dylan Jovanovic had a goal and an assist in the victory, and senior midfielder Kayla Wong contributed two assists. Junior Sydney Romano and senior Cecilia Cerone each played a half in goal against the Greyhounds.
Princeton, two-time defending Ivy League champions, wasselected first in the conference's preseason poll. Sean Driscoll is in his 12th year as Princeton's head coach. He has directed the Tigers into the NCAA Tournament six times.
Back to School Day
Sunday is "Back to School Day" at the SU Soccer Stadium. A photo booth will be set up prior to the contest, and there will be a student race during halftime.
