The Syracuse men's cross country team remained steady in the USTFCCCA national poll this week, ranking ninth overall, while the Orange women are now the first team outside the poll.
The Orange men sit one-spot behind Wake Forest for the ACC's top ranking. They're coming off a second-place finish at Princeton, where they were bested by No. 4 Alabama, but finished ahead of four other teams that entered the meet either ranked or receiving votes.
The women received nine votes in this week's poll, giving them the most votes among teams that didn't crack the rankings. The ACC is widely represented in this week's poll, with eight teams inside the rankings, giving them two more ranked programs than any other conference.
Both teams are off the next two weekends, before returning to action with a pair of meets on Friday, Oct. 16. Members of the team will head to Terre Haute, Indiana for NCAA Pre-Nationals, while others will return to Princeton for the Princeton Invite.
