Women's Basketball's ACC Tip-off Attendees Announced

Syracuse women's basketball will be represented at the ACC Tip-Off on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, in Charlotte, North Carolina by head coach Felisha Legette-Jack and student-athletes Uche Izoje and Angelica Velez as the conference previews the 2026-27 season.
Syracuse comes off a 24-9 campaign in 2025-26. The team went 12-6 in ACC play and earned a No. 9 seed in the NCAA Tournament, where the Orange defeated Iowa State in the first round before falling to UConn in the second round.
Legette-Jack is entering her fifth season leading the Orange. She has guided Syracuse to two NCAA Tournament appearances, in 2024 and 2026, and reached the second round both times.Â
Izoje, a 6-foot-3 center from Asaba, Nigeria, was the 2025-26 ACC Rookie of the Year and a unanimous First Team All-ACC selection. In her debut season she led Syracuse in scoring, rebounds and blocks, and she led the ACC in blocks. She averaged 15.0 points, 9.3 rebounds and 2.6 blocks per game in her breakout season.
Velez, a senior guard from the Bronx, New York, was named a team captain for 2026-27 alongside Olivia Schmitt and Keira Scott. She joined Syracuse from LSU and brings veteran leadership and playmaking to the backcourt. Velez is part of Syracuse's backcourt that has a strong emphasis on defense and has become a leader in the lockerroom for the Orange during her time in the Salt City.
Syracuse will be part of the ACC's annual preseason media event, which gives the league's coaches and student-athletes a chance to discuss expectations for the upcoming season.
