Team Canada 2007: Rautins played on the Team Canada squad that competed in the Pan American Games … He averaged a squad-best 13.4 points and 2.4 assists for Canada … Rautins hit a team-leading 16 3-pointers in the event … He was one of four players who started all five outings… Rautins was third in three-point field-goal per-game average (3.2) and 11th in scoring average among all Pan American Games performers… He had a squad-best 13 points in the tournament opener against Puerto Rico, a game that resulted in an 82-63 loss … When Canada lost the next time out against Brazil, 98-63, Rautins led the team again, this time with 16 points… He had a 24-point outburst in a narrow loss to Panama … Rautins earned a spot on the Team Canada Senior Men’s Team that competed in the 2007 FIBA Americas Championship in Las Vegas … He suffered a knee injury in the team’s first outing, an eventual loss to Brazil … The injury required surgery and he missed the 2007-08 campaign with the Orange.
Sophomore Year: Syracuse went 12-0 when Rautins scored in double figures … Sixty-seven of his 84 field goals (79.8 pct.) were from behind the three-point arc… Rautins posted his first of 12 double-digit scoring efforts when he had 13 in the fourth game against NORTHEASTERN… He made his first career start against BAYLOR … Rautins set career highs in three-point field goals (6) and three-point field goals attempted (11) vs. DEPAUL … He finished with 18 points in the victory… Rautins played a career-high 38 minutes at PROVIDENCE… He netted a personal-high 19 points and made a career-best seven field goals … He had five straight double-digit scoring games from Feb. 11th-26th … He averaged 12.8 points during the span and made 21-of-36 three-point attempts (.583) … His 15-point effort against SAN DIEGO STATE included five 3-pointers … He also equaled his career high with six boards versus the AZTECS.
Team Canada 2006: Rautins earned a spot on the Canadian Senior Men’s National Team… The squad, coached by Leo Rautins, played a 10-game exhibition schedule in Europe during July and August.
Freshman Year: Rautins converted a 3-pointer in 11 of his 20 appearances as a first-year performer … Rautins logged a season-high 16 minutes against MANHATTAN, a game in which he contributed six points, three assists and two rebounds … He had a season-high 10 points, including three 3-pointers, against USF.
Team Canada 2005: In July he led Canada to the championship of the Jack Donohue Classic Under-21 Basketball Tournament in Mississauga, Ontario … He had 20 points in the title game … Rautins was a starter for the Canadian Under-21 team that competed in the FIBA World Championship in Argentina… Canada won a bronze medal… Rautins saw action in five of the seven games (Canada won a game by forfeit to finish 4-4 overall) … He averaged 9.4 points and 2.6 rebounds a game… Rautins made a club-best 13 3-pointers in the tournament… After playing sparingly in the first three games because of an injury, Rautins averaged 11.8 points and 3.3 rebounds in the final four contests… He contributed 14 points and five rebounds when Canada defeated Isreal, 78-66 … Rautins had eight points when Canada knocked the U.S. out of the medal chase with a 93-90 overtime victory … In the semifinals, Canada lost to the eventual silver medalist, Greece, 74-61 … Rautins had 14 points … He helped Canada to a 79-74 bronze-medal game win against Australia by tallying 11 points and four rebounds.
High School: Rautins played for coach Bob McKenney at Jamesville-DeWitt High School… He played on the 2004 Class A state championship squad … Jamesville-DeWitt was 29-0 after defeating Amityville for the crown, 56-52 … Rautins had 19 points and seven rebounds in the title game … He had 27 points when J-D defeated Lawrence Woodmere, 79-75, in two overtimes … In the New York State Federation Tournament, Rautins produced 18 points and six assists in a 78-73 victory against St. Joseph’s… Rautins was named MVP of the game … Jamesville-DeWitt extended its unbeaten streak to 34 games during the early portion of the 2004-05 campaign … Two games after the winning streak was halted, he tallied 40 points as J-D defeated Mexico, 92-74 … In the consolation game of the Bishop Ludden Tournament, Rautins scored 33 points to help his squad past Newfield, 89-88 … In a rematch with Mexico, he tallied 40 points, including seven 3-pointers, in an 83-58 win… Mexico exacted revenge by beating J-D, 75-71, in the final game of the season… Rautins had 29 points in the loss … He competed in AAU basketball for Albany City… He was named first-team all-state and first-team All-CNY.
