The Dome
Welcome to the LOUD HOUSE!!! Come experience the mystique of DOME-ination. The Dome, America's most famous and largest structure of its kind on a college campus, is a facility that generates media exposure and adds glamour that attracts some of the nation's most talented student-athletes to Syracuse University. More than 20 million people have passed through the Dome's revolving doors since the building's first public event in 1980.
The Dome is home to Syracuse football, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's lacrosse, and in 2012, Orange softball. In addition, the multi-purpose facility annually hosts Syracuse University's commencement ceremony, in addition to the NCAA Men's Basketball Regional, concerts, including Billy Joel, Bruce Springsteen, Elton John and U2, Monster Truck Jam, the Harlem Globetrotters and ice shows, such as the sold-out performance of former Olympic skaters.
Basketball
The electricity and cheers that more than 34,000 fans bring to the Dome sends chills through your body when watching the Syracuse Orange dominate opponents on the basketball court. SU has an impressive all-time Dome record of 474-92.
Former greats who have graced the Dome hardwood include Carmelo Anthony, Dwayne "Pearl" Washington, Billy Owens, Rony Seikaly, Sherman Douglas, Derrick Coleman, John Wallace, Jason Hart and Etan Thomas.
Most fans are aware that the Dome is a tough place for an opponent to play a basketball game. Just ask the Villanova Wildcats, who witnessed the largest on-campus crowd in college basketball, playing before 34,616 fans.
Football
DOME, SWEET, DOME is the home of the Syracuse Orange football team. The stadium can hold up to 50,000 fans, adding to the aura, glamour and mystique that has an immediate impact on viewers when watching the Orange on television. The constant media attention helps to equate the Dome with Syracuse University, which helps attract the highest quality of student-athletes to come play in the Dome such as former Orange Dwight Freeney, Donovan McNabb, Don McPherson, Tim Green, Marvin Harrison, Rob Moore, and the Jones brothers, Arthur and Chandler.
Most Syracuse fans are aware that the Dome is a tough place for an opponent to play. It's particularly tough to play a football game with the help of the electrifying crowd. More than 20 million people have passed through the revolving doors since the building's first public event on September 20, 1980 -- a 36-24 football win against Miami of Ohio in front of 50,564 fans.

Lacrosse
The Dome is where you can be "At Home with the Orange" in the premier intercollegiate lacrosse venue in the nation. The FieldTurf playing surface is great for the up-tempo style that has become synonymous with the 11-time NCAA Champion Syracuse men's lacrosse team. In 1998, SU fielded its first women's lacrosse team, which also calls the Dome home.
The Dome has always been a tough place for opponents to play because of the loud cheers of the electrifying fans who pass through the revolving doors since the building's first public event on September 20, 1980. This helps attract the highest quality of student-athletes to come play in the Dome such as former Orange Gary and Paul Gait, Casey, Ryan and Mike Powell, Mike Leveille, and Joel White, in addition to Katie Rowan, Christina Dove, Katrina Hable and Monica Joines on the women's side.
