Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2003
Carrier Dome, Syracuse N.Y.
On his Team's Execution:
"We were able to get everybody in there and were able to score a lot of points. We did some good things on offense. Our rebounding picked up in the second half and that's going to be important. I thought that we did a lot of good things for the first time out. This was a good step for us."
On the play of Team Nike:
"I thought this was the best Nike team I've seen. They can shoot it really well and they were patient."
On the play of Demetris Nichols, Terrence Roberts and Darryl Watkins:
"They did some good things. They were nervous, but they stepped up and played pretty well. This was a good initial outing for them.
On junior Hakim Warrick:
"He's worked on his shooting and he makes his shots. Overall, he played well on the offensive end.
On freshman Demetris Nichols:
"We tried Demetris a little at the two spot tonight and I think that's something we'll explore over the course of the year. He's not afraid. He steps up. He took some threes, made a couple of jumpers and had some good looks. Then he got back inside and helped us on the boards. He played well."
On sophomore Billy Edelin:
"He's comfortable with what we're doing. He's gotten the games in that he needed and he's right on schedule. I think he had a great year last year and I expect him to have a better year this year."
On junior Josh Pace:
"He's a player --When he's on the court he's going to make plays whether he's at the two, the three, or the one. He's going to make good things happen out there because understands the game. He's going to be a key guy for us."
