Founders' Award
The Founders' Award honors Doris Soladay, Doris (Dobby) Fellows, Mitzi Grossman, Marilyn Giancola and the late Mildred Eggers who were instrumental in establishing Orange Plus in 1979. All are members of the Orange Plus Hall of Fame. Soladay was Director of Women's Athletics from 1975 to 1982 when the men's and women's athletics departments merged. Fellows chaired the steering committee that formed Orange Plus. Grossman gave Orange Plus its name. Giancola recruited support from other influential alumni. Eggers hostessed a tea in the Chancellor's home in spring 1979 that explored the possibility of founding a group for women's athletics similar to the men's Orange Pack. Orange Plus was launched the following fall.
