Sophomore Gerry McNamara
On the best game of his career
“It’s definitely the best game I’ve ever played in college. Hakim (Warrick) went out and we were struggling a little bit and I felt good so I kept shooting. Fortunately for us, they fell. I had the game of my life. That first half was what we needed and I took advantage of that.”
On getting open looks
“Craig (Forth) did a good job of working with me. If I was there, he’d come back and set the double screen. I have to credit the other guys for my shots. There were a few a set for myself. It was just one of those days where you are shooting it and you just keep shooting. They all did a really good job, especially Craig.”
On 3-point shooting in the first half
“When Hakim (Warrick) went out, I picked up my play. Right from the beginning, the first shot I took felt good, so I just kept shooting. I kept shooting and kept making it, so I had to keep going.”
Junior Hakim Warrick
On teammate Gerry McNamara
“That was great how he turned the whole game around. He really carried the team on his back. That’s all you can ask from a guy like that. He did a great job and we just have to keep winning.”
On rebounds
“We need to do a better job of going after the ball. We have to go after those long rebounds. It really hurt us tonight.”
On Rafael Arajuo
“He has a great touch on the outside and great footwork. He’s really strong and I think he can play against any big man in the nation.”
