Bruce Williams returned the opening kickoff for 23 yards. It was the first kickoff return of his career.
Arthur Kapalanga and Reggie McCoy each made their first career starts in the game.
Nick Chestnut’s 36-yard TD catch on SU’s first possession was the longest reception of his career. It was his third touchdown of the season.
Kellen Pruitt intercepted his fourth career pass to thwart a first-quarter Louisville drive. It was his first interception since the West Virginia game in 2003.
Thomas Whitfield recovered his third career fumble after a first-quarter SU punt hit off a Louisville player. It was his first fumble recovery since the Boston College game in 2004. It the SU defense’s eighth fumble recovery this season.
Paul Chiara made his second career catch in the first quarter. The 13-yard reception was the longest of his career.
The Orange matched its season high with 10 points in the first quarter against Louisville. SU also scored 10 points in the first quarter at Pittsburgh.
