Wide receiver Rice Moss gained a career-high 34 yards on a career high three receptions. He had a career-long 17 yards reception from Perry Patterson. His previous high was a 16-yard reception against Pittsburgh in 2004.
Tom Ferron caught his first career pass gaining 30 yards on the Orange’s first touchdown drive.
Nick Santiago, Jake Flaherty, Cornelius Campbell Jr. and Danta Herrod each made the first tackle of their careers against the Bulls.
Nicholas Chestnut switched from defensive back to wide receiver.
Perry Patterson went over the 2,000-yard milestone in passing yards when he completed a 10-yard pass to Bruce Williams. He was 10-of-20 for 139 yards passing.
Freshman wide receiver Bruce Williams had his first career reception late in the first quarter when he gained 10-yards off a pass from Perry Patterson.
Damien Rhodes had his longest rush of the season on a 54-yard touchdown run. Rhodes rushed for a career-high 236 yards and a career best four touchdowns on runs of 27, 50, 54 and one yard.
Anthony Smith picked off his first and second interceptions of the season. He now has 10 for his career, good enough for ninth on the school’s all-time interception ledger. The last time a Syracuse player intercepted two passes in a game was by Smith in 2003 against Notre Dame.
Ricky Krautman made the first field goal of his career converting on a 21-yard field goal. He had one prior field goal attempt in 2003 against Boston College, however did not convert. He finished the day with 1-of-2 in field goal attempts. He also converted a personal-best four PAT’s.
Running back Kareem Jones ran the ball 14 times for 56 yards setting a career-high in rushing attempts and yards in a game. His previous best was a three -effort against West Virginia in the season opener where he gained 14 yards.
SU led 24-0 at halftime, shutting out its opponent in the first half for the first time since it led Cincinnati 10-0 at the half last season.
Wide receiver Tim Lane had a career-long 44-yard gain on a pass from Perry Patterson. He finished the game with a career-high 62 yards receiving on a personal-best three receptions.
Damien Rhodes became the first SU player to run for four touchdowns in a game since Walter Reyes accomplished the feat in 2003 against Central Florida. Rhodes rushed for a career-high 236 yards. It was the first time a SU back rushed for more than 200 yards since the Temple game in 2004 when Rhodes had 200 yards.
Ryan LaCasse set a career-high in tackles for a loss with three for a loss of 20 yards. His previous best was two tackles for a loss of 11 yards against Pittsburgh last season. He also set a career-high in sacks with three.
Dowayne Davis recorded his first career sack.
Wide Receiver J.J. Bedle returned a career-high four punts.
As a team the Orange gained 487 yards offensively. The last time SU gained over 400 yards of total offense was against Temple last season when it gained 475 yards.
Kicker Patrick Shadle missed his first career field goal attempt from 39 yards.
The Orange held its opponents under 200 yards for the first time since 2002 when Rutgers was held to 193 net yards.
Quarterback Matt Hale played in the first game of his career.
The Orange recorded a shutout for the first time since 1997 when it shutout East Carolina, 56-0.
Syracuse held its opponent to less than 10 first downs for the first time since 1999 when Temple had seven first downs.
