’s career leader in number of punts. He kicked eight times in the game and has 254 punts in his career.Defensive end Jameel McClain registered a sack in the first quarter to increase his season total to 8.5 which is tied with Louis Gachelin (2002) for fifth in season sacks by an SU junior.
McClain also moved into a tie with Gachelin for 10th on SU
’s all-time season tackles for loss list (12.5) with three against the Bearcats.McClain posted a career-best nine total tackles against the Bearcats.
Tight end Tom Ferron caught three passes against the Bearcats to move into seventh on SU
’s season receptions list by a tight end (26).Kicker Patrick Shadle booted his 12th consecutive field goal when he converted a 23-yard attempt in the second quarter. It is the longest streak for an Orange kicker since Nate Trout hit 16 in a row in 1998 and 1999. Shadle has at least one field goal in every game this season.
It was the first time this season the Orange did not score a touchdown.
