Marshall Abrams was a three-time All-American and two-time All-Tournament player for Syracuse. He was one of the captains who led the Orange to the 2000 National Championship and in his senior year, Abrams won the William Schmeisser Award for Outstanding Defenseman in Division I. He played for the Iroquois in the World Games in 1998 and 2006.
Senior Year (2000): STX/USILA First-Team All-American…one of the five team captains… named to the NCAA Lacrosse Championship All-Tournament Team… received the William Schmeisser Award…started and played in all 16 games…had one assist, which came in the NCAA semifinal win against Johns Hopkins…recovered 32 groundballs…played for the North in the North/South Collegiate All-Star game.
Junior Year (1999): STX/USILA Second-Team All-American…named to the NCAA Lacrosse Championship All-Tournament Team…helped SU hold two of its four NCAA Tournament opponents to less than 10 goals…held Georgetown’s Greg McCavera (86 total points, third in nation in regular reason points per game and assists per game) to just one goal and one assist in the national semifinals…started in all 17 games…scored one goal and one assist in the quadruple overtime loss to Princeton…finished second on the team, and first among field players, in groundballs with 64.
Sophomore Year (1998): Received honorable mention All-America honors…had five goals and three assists, the most points scored by a Syracuse longstick defender in the 1990s.
Freshman Year (1997): Played in all 14 games in the defensive midfield…had one assist in the win against Pennsylvania and the NCAA Semifinal loss to Maryland…had eight groundballs and took one shot.
High School: Attended LaFayette High School…four-year lacrosse letterwinner…lettered two years in ice hockey…team captain as a senior…All-American in lacrosse…All-County as a senior in both lacrosse and ice hockey…team MVP as a senior.
