Sophomore year: back-up to Bill Scharr at quarterback…played in 11 games, including starting roles against Boston College and Louisville…came off the bench to lead SU to a Peach Bowl win over Georgia, completing 10 of 13 for 135 yards and a TD…completed 63 of 88 passes for 748 yards and 3 TDs on the season..71.6 pass completion percentage would have destroyed the existing SU record, but he fell 11 attempts short of the number needed to qualify…completed 17 of 22 for 200 yards against East Carolina…had what were the 8^th and 9^th best pass percentage games in SU history (77.3 vs. East Carolina, 76.9 vs. Georgia)…was named SU’s MVP after completing 12 of 20 for 158 yards and a TD vs. West Virginia…also had 100-yard passing games after coming off the bench against Florida State and Penn State…
