2007 SU Women's Soccer Kicks Against Breast Cancer Clinic
SYRACUSE WOMEN’S SOCCER
KICKS AGAINST BREAST CANCER
MOTHER – DAUGHTER SOCCER CLINIC
Sun March 4, 2007
Carrier Dome
Syracuse Women’s Soccer program is sponsoring a soccer clinic for mothers and daughters to raise funds and awareness for the Kicks Against Breast Cancer cause and mission. All proceeds from the clinic will be given to the Claudia Mayer Cancer Resource & Image Center in Columbia, Maryland. This soccer clinic is one of a series that is put on by women’s soccer programs around the country to raise money, provide information, and expand awareness regarding breast cancer. We hope area players and moms will come join us for some fun, education, and family interaction in the top indoor facility in the Northeast, and help us raise monies for the very worthwhile cause.
Date: Sunday March 4, 2007
Venue: Carrier Dome (on Syracuse University campus)
Time: 2:00 – 6:00 pm
Cost: $ 20 per pre-registered participant;
(Price includes instruction, lunch, T-shirt, educational materials)
$25 per participant at the door (same as above but T-shirt isn’t guaranteed)
*** Other individual and/or corporate donations are very welcome ***
All proceeds to be donated by Syracuse women’s soccer to the
Claudia Mayer Cancer Resource & Image Center
Participants: Mother with daughters aged 12 or above. (Any number of daughters can
accompany mom)
Activities: Both moms and daughters to take part in soccer skill activities, mother-daughter
soccer games, health awareness discussion, lunch program, etc.
Gear: Shoes to play on field turf surface; shin guards if available, training gear
Philosophy: We want mothers and daughters to have an opportunity to play a great game, with the mom’s learning some of the skills that their daughters master as they develop as players. Instruction is from the Syracuse women’s soccer players and coaches. All abilities and fitness levels can participate. We also will have some presentations and information from our health staff regarding breast cancer awareness, checkups, etc. We hope the young players will bring their moms and the moms will have a chance to interact with their daughters in both a fun and serious environment. And we want to raise some monies for the Claudia Mayer Cancer Resource & Image Center.
