For over 25 years, George had been successfully involved in real estate, investments and commercial development. President of the Cardinal Company since 1985, he oversees the ownership of the company’s shopping centers and industrial parks throughout the western United States.

An honorable mention All-American in 1967, George Hicker belonged to the Delta Upsilon Fraternity and the Phi Kappa Alpha Senior Men’s Honorary. He was also active in St. Thomas More House.

George has been honored by the American Industrial Real Estate Association. He is a contributor to many charities in the Los Angeles area including Save-A-Life, the California Council of the Blind, the Los Angeles Aids Project, CALPIRG, Eterna 5, the Soulville Foundation, Camp Fundamental and the Brotherhood of American Veterans. George is president of Willie Naulls Ministries and The Right Choice Club, an organization oriented to teaching youth of all origins proper values and goals.
In 1991, George initiated an endowment fund for academic support for student-athletes. He is a lifetime Varsity Club member and a member of the Society of Fellows. George also supports the Dave Bing Fund, Hardwood Fund, Jim Boeheim Endowment Fund and SU Orange Pack. He was honored by the Hardwood Fund with the Vic Hanson Medal of Excellence in 1997.
