Gerald W. Manhold graduated fromSyracuse University with a degree in accounting in 1941. Manhold was a member of the varsity tennis team from 1938-41, serving as captain in 1941. Manhold also was a member of the varsity soccer team in 1939-40. A goalkeeper, he earned All-East honors in 1939. Manhold was a member of the Acacia Fraternity and served as treasurer from 1939-41. In 1941, he was elected to Beta Alpha Psi, the honorary national accounting fraternity. After graduation, Manhold was a FBI Special Agent until 1947. During his years of service he was awarded the medal for Exceptional Achievement. After leaving the FBI Manhold worked as an accountant and a life underwriter. He worked for the New Jersey State Commissioner of Insurance as Chairman of his Advisory Committee. He served as President of the New Jersey Association of Life Underwriters and served on the Board of Directors of the New Jersey APA and as President of the MSW Chapter of the New Jersey Association of Public Accountants. Manhold received the Harry & Claire Roman Award for Outstanding Service to the New Jersey State Association. Manhold has served his community as President of the Madison (NJ) Kiwanis Club and served as Chairman of the New Jersey State Kiwanis Key Clubs. Manhold won three consecutive U.S. Platform Tennis Association’s Seniors National Doubles Championships for the 60+ age group from 1979-81. In 1990 he won the National Doubles championship for the 65+ age group.
