Mike Dritz served as treasurer and vice president of Zeta Beta Tau Fraternity, vice president of Alpha Kappa Psi Business Fraternity and treasurer of Scabbard & Blade Military Honorary. He was a member of Betta Gamma Sigma Business Honorary and received the Robert B. Roantree Memorial Award (Outstanding Finance Student).
Currently Mike is an advisor to Merrill Lynch and Co., managing director of Equity Markets and chairman of Smith Brothers International Services, Inc. at Merrill Lynch. From 1985 to 1995, he was president and CEO of Smith New Court, Inc. Mike coordinated the transition of Smith New Court to Merrill Lynch which acquired Smith in October in 1995. During his tenure as CEO of Smith New Court, Inc., he designed and built a U.S. securities firm specializing in international equities. As a director of Smith New Court PLC (London) he helped the company expand into Asia, South America and South Africa. From 1963 to 1985 he was president and CEO of Dritz Goldring, Inc., a specialist operation on the New York and American Stock Exchange.
Mike is involved in numerous charities including the Jimmy Heuga Multiple Sclerosis center, the Pamela Posen Foundation and the Stratton Arts Festival.
Former chairman of SU’s School of Management Corporate Advisory Council, Mike has been a member of that council for 18 consecutive years. He is also a member of the Chancellor’s council; SU’s New York City Lubin House Advisory council; a trustee of the Ballantine Center for the School of Management; and the recipient of the John Holtz Alumnus of the Year Award in 1993. Mike has been a loyal and long time member of the Varsity Club of SU. He has been a major contributor to SU scholarship funds, the Orange Pack, Hardwood Fund, Football Fund, Fun for Syracuse, Schine Student Center, School of Management Building Fund and Deans’ Fund, and has formed and funded the Dritz Seminar in Finance.
