Orange Sweeps Dartmouth In Final Dual Race
Syracuse won all three races against Dartmouth in its final dual race of the season on Sunday, May 20. It was the second time this season that SU won every race during a dual.
Varsity Eight Seals Undefeated Season
The Orange varisty eight went undefeated for the second-consecutive season by winning the Packard Cup against Dartmouth. SU won with a time of 6:04.20, followed by Dartmouth at 6:17.00. The varisty eight retained all four cups it won in 2006.
JV Eight Edges 3V Eight
In the second varsity race, two Syracuse boats battled hard in the closest heat of the day. The JV eight (5:59.69) pulled ahead of the third varsity eight (6:02.54) in the final 500 meters for the victory. Both crews were neck-and-neck throughout the race and as they passed by the boathouse, the third varsity held a slight edge. The JV eight surged ahead at that point for the close victory.
Freshman Eight Picks Up Second Victory
In the freshman eight race, Syracuse (6:14.64) defeated Dartmouth (6:24.52) for its second victory of the season. The Orange's first win came in SU's other home meet against Rutgers.

Orange Has Overall Successful Day at Eastern Sprints
At the 2007 Eastern Sprints, Syracuse had two boats reach grand finals and won the second varsity eight petite final. Head coach Dave Reischman called it the best Sprints the Orange has had during his coaching tenure.
Varsity Eight Reaches Grand Final
The Orange varsity eight made the grand final for the first time since 1989 after placing second in its heat. Syracuse took second place in Heat 1 with a time of 5:43.503, finishing ahead of Cornell (5:44.337) and behind only top-seeded Harvard (5:40.613). All of the top-six seeds advanced to the varsity eight grand final, which was the final race of the event. Sixth-seeded Syracuse came in sixth place with a time of 5:42.961 in the grand final. The Orange improved on its 2006 finish at the Eastern Sprints, when it came in third place in a photo finish in the preliminaries and won the petite final to come in seventh place.
JV Eight Wins Petite Final
Syracuse's JV eight won the second varsity petite final and placed seventh overall. The Orange came in third place in its heat with a time of 5:47.479, narrowly missing out on a top-two finish and a slot in the grand final. SU held tough and beat five other crews in the petite final to win that crown, finishing with a time of 5:50.912.
Third Varsity Takes Second Place
The Syracuse third varisty recorded the top finish for the team with a second place overall finish. The Orange qualified for the grand final with a second place finish in Heat 2. Syracuse clocked in at 5:52.144, behind only Brown, (5:49.490). In the grand final, Syracuse engaged in an intense battle with Harvard, and the Crimson (5:47.100) edged past the Orange (5:48.100) to take the title.

#9 Orange Win Third Race In A Row
The ninth-ranked Syracuse varsity eight won the Conlan Cup on Sunday, April 28, to remain undefeated in the spring season. Syracuse won in a time 6:04.90, beating Columbia (6:08.31) and Boston (6:21.03). The Orange has won the last two Conlan Cups after Boston had won the previous three.
Orange Junior Varsity Earns Two Victories
Syracuse won both junior varsity races at the Conlan. The JV eight won its race with a time of 6:16.30, besting Columbia (6:19.39) and Boston (6:23.88). In the JV four race, Syracuse cruised past Boston, finishing with a time of 7:02.50.

#9 Orange Retains Goes Trophy
For the first time in nearly 50 years, the Syracuse men's rowing team has won back-to-back Goes Trophies. The ninth-ranked Orange beat 15th-ranked Cornell and Navy in the 53rd running of the Goes race in Annapolis on Friday, April 20. The last time the Orange held the trophy for two-consecutive years was 1958-59. Syracuse came in first with a time of 6:04.8, followed by Cornell (6:06.7) and Navy (6:14.4) Navy was awarded secodn place, however, after the judges ruled that Cornell interfered with Navy's path by impeding on the Midshipmen's lane.
Orange Takes Second In Two Other Heats
In the JV race, Syracuse came in second (6:22.8) to Cornell (6;14.6), with Navy coming in third (6;27.6). In the third varsity race, the Orange also placed second (6:20.3), barely behind Cornell (6:20.3) and ahead of Navy (6:30.6).

#10 Orange Retains Ten Eyck Cup For Second-Consecutive Season
The Syracuse men's rowing team opened the 2007 spring season in commanding fashion, winning every race of the Ten Eyck Cup. The Orange hosted Rutgers in the annual event and won all four races held on the morning.
Varsity Eight Wins Second-Straight Ten Eyck Cup
The Orange varsity eight won the 21st running of the Ten Eyck Cup, claiming back-to-back titles for the first time since 2002. The Orange led by a length after the first 500 meters and never relinquished that lead, cruising to a time of 6:09.09, 15 seconds ahead of Rutgers, who clocked in with 6:24.93.
Freshman Eight Dominates Scarlet Knights
The Orange freshman eight beat Rutgers in its first race of the spring. Syracuse came in with a time of 6:34.17, besting Rutgers; time of 6:39.35.
Junior Varsity Eight Pulls Double Duty
In the first race of the day, the Syracuse junior varsity eight squared off against the third varsity eight. Due to Rutgers roster size, SU had to pit its own two boats against one another. The JV edged past the 3V, 6:32.09-6:34.58. The win earned the JV eight the chance to race Rutgers in a fours race. The JV boat split into two boats and faced Rutgers in the final race. The Syracuse B boat squeaked past the A boat by less than a second, 7:12.71-7:12.90. The Orange finished well ahead of the Rutgers four, who crossed the finish line with a time of 7:44.72.
