C.W.P. Reynolds, 1925-26
Head Coach
All-Time Record at SU: 15-3-2 (.750)
Defensive juggernauts were the order of C.W.P. "Pete" Reynolds' brief coaching tenure at SU. Reynolds coached the team for just 20 games over two seasons, but 12 of those games were Orange shutouts, including his first six contests in 1925. SU didn't allow a single point that season until the month of November
The offense was no slouch, either, and SU won each of the six aforementioned games by an average score of 30-0. The 1920's was a decade of dominance for the Orange as SU went 65-20-9, good for a winning percentage of .690, despite having three different head coaches in that period.
Reynolds' team gave up a paltry 27 points in 1925, a mark that hasn't been matched since and is topped only by the 1923 team's stingy defense, which gave up only 19 points.
