- Game captains for Pitt were RB #34 LaRod Stephens-Howling, LB #86 Austin Ransom and P #18 Dave Brytus.
- Syracuse’s Mike Holmes returned Pitt’s first kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown. The last time Pitt gave up a kickoff return for a touchdown was against N.C. State on Dec. 20, 2001. Gregory Golden returned the ball 90 yards for the score for the Wolfpack.
- With his eight receptions today, WR Derek Kinder has moved into 10th in all-time receptions at Pitt, surpassing Bob Longo (106 from 1965-67) and Jake Hoffart (108 from 1996-97). He currently has 114 for his career.
- TE Dorin Dickerson’s second quarter touchdown is the first TD reception of his career. Dickerson scored a rushing TD as a freshman.
- RB LeSean McCoy’s 149 yards on the day gives him eight 100-yard rushing games for his career. It also marks his first 100-yard game of the season.
- DE Greg Romeus’ forced fumble in the fourth quarter is the first of his career.
- DE Jabaal Sheard’s fumble recovery on Romeus’ forced fumble is also the first of his career.
- RB LaRod Stephens-Howling’s two TD rushes gives him his third multiple TD game in his career. Stephens-Howling had a career-high three at Central Florida in 2006 and two later that season at Connecticut.
- PK Conor Lee’s 14 points on the day off of field goals of 40, 43, 44 and 25 yards, as well as two extra points, moves him into seventh in all-time scoring at Pitt with 196 points. Lee surpassed George McLaren with 183 from 1915-18 and Mark Schubert with 188 from 1977-79.
- Lee’s four field goals on the day breaks his career high of three, and ties the school record with Carson Long (vs. William & Mary 1975), Nick Lotz (vs. Temple 2001) and David Abdul (vs. Boston College 2002).
- Lee’s 14 points on the day also breaks his career high of 10 points, which he reached four times, most recently against Rutgers on Nov. 17, 2007.
- Lee’s career streak of point after touchdowns was extended to 85. He is a perfect 85 for 85 in his career.
