How tough was it for you to watch that last 3-point shot go in at the end of regulation?
“She made a great play. I tried to get out there and protect the ball, but she made a great shot.”
How comfortable do you feel at the point?
“I am comfortable. Since I started my career at Syracuse we have switched back and forth. Freshman year a played a lot at the point, but in the last two years I haven’t as much. We are the kind of team that has a few good players that can manage the point position well.”
Why do you think coach put in at the point position in the second half?
“I did not have a lot of turnovers during the game. I only had two in the forty minutes that I played so I think that was a major factor in his decision.”
Are you feeling a lot of pressure now with the way the team has been doing in the conference to come out and really win these last four games?
“There is always pressure in the BIG EAST because there are such great teams.”
Nicole Michael:
You had a great second half this game. What clicked for you that might not have in the first half?
“I was just being confident. I was trying to keep the spirits up of everyone and around me and work hard to pull in that win.”}
What do you think was the key to the team coming back when you were down by eleven points with eight minutes left that eventually led to overtime?
“Getting stops and rebounding.”
How do you bounce back from these last couple games and look forward towards Rutgers?
“We just have to get ready to play hard. Coach is going to have a great scout for us so I think we will be just fine.”
Do you feel that there is a burden on your shoulder during these closer games that you will be the person who is looked to in order to score those crucial baskets?
“Not at all, I am a good player and coach trusts me with the ball.”
Kayla Alexander:
There was a stretch of about four or five times and you were able to turn around and make some easy baskets. Did they change the defense on you? Why didn’t you keep getting those kinds of looks?
“They started doubling me after I made those shots so it became more difficult to get them in.”
How have these past few basketball games made you a better player?
“I have learned things I needed to improve on, worked on them in practice and hopefully bring those improvements to the games.”
