Syracuse Student-Athlete Quotes
Syracuse vs. Towson
Carrier Dome – Syracuse, N.Y.
March 17, 2009
Tee Ladouceur, Junior, Attack
On playing after a 10-day layoff:
“It is pretty exciting. The last couple of practices we have started playing a little lackadaisical because it has been awhile since our last game. It was good to show that we can still come out fired up and pumped up.”
On reaction to having eight points at half-time:
“(It was because of ) Wide open cuts. It was all of my teammates working hard. I gave them the ball and they did the rest. They were making me look good.”
On knowing if she had career high of 10 points:
“I don’t keep track because I get in the zone. I guess it is the luck of the Irish today.”
On playing Northwestern next:
“We were more focused on Towson this week. We were not looking ahead at Northwestern. Now that we are done with the Towson game we are going to start looking at Northwestern at practice tomorrow. We are going to start working even harder because they are a very good team and they are going to come out strong.”
On having patience on offense and finding open teammates:
“We have a bunch of plays setup where there are multiple options to get the ball to someone. We don’t have just one or two players that are going to be looking to get the ball. Everyone on our offense can score, so I think that is why we are such a big threat on that end of the field.”
Christina Dove, Senior, Midfield
On very good performance against Towson again:
“I think it is a coincidence that it is against Towson, but it is like my hometown. It is always nice to play well against them. Playing a Maryland team and coming from Maryland, it is always great to have a great game against them.”
On if she knew she was close to the 200th goal mark:
“I had no idea. t is a great honor and our offense continued to play well. Especially going into this weekend, we need to keep playing better.”
On how it felt to play after a long layoff:
“Yes, we have had one game in the past 17 days, so it almost felt like starting the season over. It was a great start for us to head into a long stretch.”
On being the second person to hit the 200 goal mark:
“It is a great honor. Katie Rowan is a great player and I look up to her a lot and all that she has accomplished. It is great to reach that milestone and keep playing hard.”
On the 11-2 lead in the first half:
“It was possession. We were able to get the draw control and take care of it and take quality shots. We had some great feeds from behind and were patient. Our defense played phenomenal. As soon as they got the ball they turned the ball over or Liz (Hogan) made a great save and we were back and running and scoring on offense.”
On defense and slowing down their top scorers:
“Going into the game we knew who their top scorers were and we were keying on certain people and I think we did well on those two players. Jess Dunn had a great game. Our defense played hard.”
On size advantage over Towson:
“Towson had a great defense. I think size and our offense being so balanced overall, feeds coming from behind and being able to dodge up top, helped. That was key in breaking down there defense and winning the game.”
On consecutive streak of 45 goals:
“It is great to score goals in the game and help my team anyway I can. Going into the next two games we need to keep playing hard on offense and defense and winning the draws. There is so much more than just scoring goals to lacrosse and winning the game.”
