Norman Chadwick, 1947 (Cheerleading)
Norman Chadwick received a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration with a concentration in advertising in 1947. However, this was not how Chadwick started at Syracuse. Upon completion of his tour of duty, he returned to Syracuse, took an accelerated class and graduated on time with the class of 1947. At SU Chadwick was a member of the cheerleading squad, served as senior class treasurer and the President of Zeta Beta Tau. During his professional career, he was CEO of the Crown Tire Company in Auburn, NY, a member of the Board of Directors of Hercules Tire Company, treasurer of the Hercules Tire Company and Chairman of the Firestone National Dealer Council. Chadwick is an active member of his community where he is a member of the Rotary Club and a two-time member of the Auburn School Board. Chadwick has served as President of the Cayuga County Alumni Club and is one of the original members of the Orange Pack and Ernie Davis Football Club. Chadwick has served on the SU Alumni Board of Directors and the SU Athletic Policy Board. He is a member of the Chancellor’s Council and the Society of Fellows. Chadwick’s wife, Joy, is also a graduate of Syracuse University, as is their daughter, Nan.
