Lester Dye (Football)
Dye, now director of athletics at his alma mater, lettered in football in 1938-39-40 and later played with the Washington Redskins. He played in the 1945 championship game against Cleveland. Dye served as head coach at Clarkson until returning to SU in 1949 when Ben Schwartzwalder arrived on the scene and tapped him as an assistant coach. In 1959, Les moved into admissions and was dean when he was named AD in 1973.
