Syracuse vs. Adrian
November 10, 2014
Carrier Dome, Syracuse, N.Y.
Rakeem Christmas, Senior, Forward
You displayed a lot of effort, going after loose balls and everything. Is that important to you to establish that leadership, even in a game like this?
“It’s very important, just to get me going and when my teammates see me doing something like that they are going to start doing it to so I’m just trying to get my teammates involved and be more aggressive.”
What do the two exhibition games teach?
“That we just need to go out there and play hard from the beginning. Last game we started off slow but this game we started off on a good pace. We just have to continue to be more aggressive.”
Michael Gbinije, Junior, Forward
Why do you think coach put it on you specifically?
“I’m hoping that he sees a lot in me. I'm just trying to live up to the expectations.”
What do you see from some of the other guys, especially playing forward and guard?
“I think we’re playing with effort out there, I think we’re playing great defense and today we got a lot of open shots and moved the ball well. I think we can continue to get better but in terms of the young guys, I think they are moving in the right direction. I think we’re going to be solid as a team.”
Kaleb Joseph, Freshmen, Guard
How do you think you did in your second performance coming in as a freshman?
“I think it’s been pretty good so far. We came in with a big lead, so I can’t complain.”
How do you differentiate in your approach from Carleton to Adrian, one who’s had more success than the other?
“We don’t at all. We play hard every game as if we’re playing the best team, doesn’t matter who we’re playing. We’re not happy if we’re not playing to our potential and I think we did well tonight.”
