Clemson Head Coach Brad Brownell Quotes
How did your team respond to win the game despite a rough second half?
“I thought we were exceptional in the first half -- about as well as you can play against the zone. I thought they made some great adjustments, which they always do. We didn’t play as well. We were a little bit tight at times in the game. We really tried to regroup them. When we made the shot it uplifted our guys. To start the second half JB made a couple good buckets. They made some big time shots to give them a chance. Then they stole the ball. So, we’re very fortunate with the way it ended, but I really thought we made a lot of good plays throughout the game to win.”
How has your team grown from the beginning of the season?
“I think we’ve played much better since Christmas. We were struggling a little bit. We lost a heartbreaker to Alabama, that we probably should have won or had a chance to win and that kind of stuck with us a little bit. We didn’t do a good enough job of getting past it. We lost a close game to South Carolina. We’ve really played well and guys have had great attitudes since Christmas. We came back and practiced really well. We practiced great the last two days. Certainly, the win against Florida State gave us some momentum. We came in here feeling pretty good and knew we would play well.”
What does a win in a hostile environment like the Carrier Dome do for the confidence of your team?
“It’s really good for our guys. Road wins are really special, they’re really hard, certainly winning here is extremely difficult. It gives us a lot of confidence moving forward.”
