David Orloff is in his third season as a graduate assistant for the Orange. Orloff came to Syracuse in February 2018 as a defensive quality control coach before shifting to his current position.

Prior to joining the Syracuse staff, Orloff served as a defensive and special teams graduate assistant at UNLV from 2015-17. He was an undergraduate assistant coach at San Jose State from 2010-14.

During his time at UNLV, Orloff worked as the defensive coordinator for the 2017 New Era Bowl, an all-star game featuring a mix of Japanese and American-born football players and coaches. Orloff’s responsibilities for the Rebels included scripting defensive practice periods, organizing the scout team offense and special teams units, and breaking down film.

Orloff earned his bachelor’s degree in mathematics from San Jose State in 2015. He holds a master’s degree in special education from UNLV and is pursuing a second master’s degree in instructional design, development and evaluation at Syracuse.Â
