Denny Kellington, who joined the Syracuse sports medicine staff in 2005, was the head athletic trainer for the Orange football program from 2011-17.
He was responsible for all phases of athletic training for the football program and also mentors the graduate assistant athletic training staff.

A native of Midwest City, Oklahoma, Kellington earned his bachelor’s degree in health and human performance from Oklahoma State in 2000.  Following his graduation, Kellington served as an athletic training intern with the NFL’s Denver Broncos from 2000-02. He was named the assistant athletic trainer for the Amsterdam Admirals of NFL Europe for the 2002 season.Â

After NFL Europe, Kellington worked as a graduate assistant athletic trainer for Ohio State from 2002-04. While with the Buckeyes, he was responsible for the care and rehabilitation of OSU’s field hockey and women’s lacrosse student-athletes.

Kellington is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA), the EATA, and the New York State Athletic Trainers Association. He currently serves as treasurer of the Atlantic Coast Conference Sports Medicine Association.Â

Kellington is certified in first aid, CPR, AED and SASTM. He and his wife, Jennifer, reside in Jamesville with their daughter, Sydney, and their son, Bryton.
