Jeff Sobol accompanied Assistant AD for Athletic Performance Sean Edinger to Syracuse from Bowling Green in January 2016, joining the Orange staff as an assistant strength and conditioning coach for football.

Prior to his arrival at Syracuse, Sobol spent 2015 as Bowling Green’s assistant director of strength and conditioning where he was responsible for training BGSU’s baseball and softball teams. He also assisted Edinger with the football program.

A graduate of Eastern Illinois, Sobol was a three-year starter on the defensive line for the Panthers from 2006-08. He earned All-Ohio Valley Conference honors twice and spent three seasons in the Indoor Football League after his college career.

Sobol, a native of Pevely, Mo., got his start in strength and conditioning as a graduate assistant for Eastern Illinois and earned a master’s degree in sports administration from the school.

Jeff and his wife, Kelsey, have a daughter, Sloan.
