Landan Salem is in his second season as Syracuse’s director of player personnel. Salem works closely with Director of Recruiting Operations Kramer Cook to execute recruiting strategies designed to attract the nation’s top prospects.
Salem came to Syracuse from Florida Atlantic, where he served as the program’s pro liaison and director of player personnel in 2017. During his one season with the Owls, Florida Atlantic finished 11-3, won the Conference USA title and defeated Akron in the Boca Raton Bowl.
In addition to Florida Atlantic, Salem’s previous college experience includes stops at NC State, Pittsburgh, Michigan State and Illinois.
Prior to a brief stint as the assistant director of player personnel at NC State, Salem served as Pittsburgh’s director of video scouting and summer camps from 2015-16. He oversaw the player evaluation process for the Panthers and facilitated the recruiting schedule for coaches. In 2014, Salem worked as a recruiting assistant at Michigan State. He spent the 2012 and 2013 seasons at Illinois as a player personnel and special teams assistant.
Salem gained NFL experience in the summer of 2013 as an operations intern with the Indianapolis Colts. He also interned with the Orlando Predators of the Arena Football League in 2011.
A 2014 graduate of Illinois, Salem holds a bachelor’s degree in agricultural finance.
