Stan Kissel served as director of basketball operations for the men’s basketball program from August 2005 through December 2012. He managed all administrative aspects of the men's basketball program and its support staff.
Kissel served as the program's liaison to the Academic Services Department. He was a member of the CHAMPS Life Skills Personal Development Team and served on the Athletics Department Academic Welfare Committee.
Kissel began his career in athletics in 1994 at Boston College as a strength and conditioning intern. He moved on to Arizona State, where he was a member of the strength and conditioning staff for four years.
After spending a year as a volunteer academic advisor for the men's basketball program at Champlain College, Kissel came to Syracuse as a graduate assistant academic advisor for men's and women's basketball. Following a two-year tenure, he began two years as an athletics tutor and mentor coordinator at Purdue. He returned to Syracuse in 2005.
A native of Ticonderoga, N.Y., Kissel earned his bachelor’s degree in sports science from the University of Idaho in 1994. He is working toward his master’s degree in higher education administration at Syracuse.
He and his wife, Nicole, have three children; August, Harland and Wesley.
