The following year saw Lincoln push the Golden Knights to the Liberty League conference finals.
The 2022 season was a landmark year for Clarkson men's soccer, as Lincoln's strong defensive tactics saw the Golden Knights in the national rankings for the first time in two decades, peaking as high as 18 in the polls. Clarkson kept seven straight clean sheets to start the season, a program record.
Lincoln emphasizes the academic standing of his student-athletes, mentoring them to numerous academic awards. Over his five years at Clarkson, Lincoln pushed two student-athletes to United Soccer Coaches' Scholar All-America honors and College Sports Communicators Academic All-America status.
Prior to taking over Clarkson, Lincoln served as an assistant coach at his alma mater, Vermont, in 2017. In Burlington, Lincoln was responsible for the player development of two first-team America East All-Conference selections and the 2017 America East Goalkeeper of the Year Aron Runarsson. Lincoln also assisted in directing recruiting efforts, identifying key talent in the United States and overseas.
Lincoln began his coaching career at Clarkson as an assistant coach from 2015 to 2016. In his first stint with the Golden Knights, Lincoln oversaw recruiting efforts while designing and implementing training sessions.
A former student-athlete, Lincoln began his collegiate career at Southern New Hampshire University in 2010. After two seasons with the Penmen, Lincoln transferred to Vermont in 2012. In his three years with the Catamounts, Lincoln appeared in 38 matches in the midfield, playing a part in Vermont's 2012 America East regular season title.
Lincoln holds a USSF C licence.
Lincoln comes to Syracuse with his wife, Kaila, and their son Theodore.
