Marcus Shelmidine returned to his alma mater in June 2018 as the manager of multimedia and technology for the nationally-ranked women's basketball program. He spent the previous year as a video production analyst for women's basketball at Boston College.
In his third season at Syracuse (2020-21), Shelmidine was named CSVA's Basketball Video Coordinator of the Year Runner Up.
Shelmidine was a video intern with the Orange from 2015-2017. His day-to-day responsibilities included filming practice, team workouts and games to assist with scouting reports. He facilitated film exchange with opponents and managed a group of four other students that was tasked with creating analytic reports for Associate Head Coach Vonn Read.Â
Upon graduating from 'Cuse, Shelmidine spent the 2017-18 women's basketball season at conference foe Boston College where he was responsible for breaking down film, coding games, overseeing ten student managers, coordinating film exchange, packing and setting up video equipment for all home and road contests and assisting with print and digital projects for recruiting.Â
Shelmidine began working in women's basketball as a video coordinator intern for the Chicago Sky (WNBA) for two summers duing his undergraduate years and spent the 2017 WNBA season with the Indiana Pacers/Fever coding games, creating scouting reports and pregame scouting videos, updating and maintaining digital, video and paper playbooks for the coaching staff as an assistant video coordinator.Â
Shelmidine earned a bachelor's in sport management and economics from Syracuse University in 2017.Â
