Goaltender coach Mike Murphy is in his fourth season on the Orange staff, having started with the program in 2019-20. The former professional goaltender and coaching veteran has worked with Orange goalies since 2019-20 in the role of a volunteer coach.

In his role with the Orange, Murphy has worked with 2021-22 CHA Goaltender of the Year and 2022 Battle at the Burgh MVP Arielle DeSmet and 2019-20 CHA Goaltending Champion Allison Small.

A former National Hockey League (NHL) goaltender, Murphy was a 2008 Carolina Hurricanes draft pick. He also played professionally in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) and Canadian Hockey League (CHL). He earned Goaltender of the Year honors in back-to-back years in the OHL and one time in the CHL.

A native of Kingston, Ontario, Murphy owns and operates Mike Murphy Goaltending and also works with multiple championship Canadian hockey teams and organizations.
