Kristen Jones Kolod is the Deputy Director and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Syracuse University Athletics. She has been employed by Athletics since December 2016.Â
In this role, Ms. Jones Kolod is responsible for providing direction and oversight of Athletics’ financial management, human resources, and facility and event operations in support of the Athletic Department’s mission and strategic plan. She oversees all aspects of finances, including annual operating and capital budgets, financial planning and analysis, budget development and financial reporting. Ms. Jones Kolod also provides administrative oversight and guidance for human resource processes and management of the facilities and operations staff. In this role, she collaborates closely with multiple units across the University including Budget and Planning, Office of the Comptroller, Human Resources, Campus Planning, Design, and Construction, and the Office of Advancement and External Affairs.
Ms. Jones Kolod has over 25 years of corporate and higher education experience in fiscal management and analysis, operational processes and improvements, development and implementation of policies and procedures, and project management. Prior to her role in Athletics, Ms. Jones Kolod was the executive director of budget and administrative operations for the Division of Student Affairs. Before joining the University, she was the manager of financial planning and analysis for the Division of Commercial Systems and Services at United Technologies Corporation. Previous positions in the corporate sector also include manager of finance and accounting services at Carrier Corporation, and manager of corporate payroll at The Penn Traffic Company.
Ms. Jones Kolod has a Master of Business Administration (MBA), is a member of the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO) and the Eastern Association of College and University Business Officers (EACUBO). She holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from LeMoyne College.
