On getting turnovers and good field position at Temple:
"We were fortunate Saturday to come up with some turnovers. In the second quarter we had some very good field position as a result of the getting turnovers and the play of our special teams."
On QB R.J. Anderson's performance at Temple:
"R.J. played very steady. He played a good game. In a tough game he didn't do anything that would've lost the game. The quarterback will play as the team plays. There were times in the game where we could've played a little better."
On the right tackle position:
"Giovanni DeLoatch and Kevin Sampson both played in the game when Joe Burton had to come out. We will look at Gio and Kevin playing in the absence of Joe."
On the game vs. Miami:
"They have a lot to play for, so they will come here with both barrels loaded. They are a legitimate top-two team. Miami-Syracuse has developed into being a pretty good rivalry over the years. We have struggled against them. Hopefully we can get prepared to play. We need to play a steady, mistake free game."
On the pressure applied by the Miami defense:
"They are very good. Damione Lewis is a big defensive lineman. He is as a good as any defensive lineman that we are going to play against. He is the same caliber player that they have enjoyed having in their program. Jamaal Green, Cornelius Green and Quincy Hipps are big, strong, excellent pass rushers from the defensive end position. They are going to put a lot of pressure on the quarterback. Dan Morgan is one of the outstanding linebackers in the country. Al Blades and Edward Reed are excellent safeties. They are a very good team. They play well on third down, using multiple packages. They are constantly changing their third down packages every week to keep their opponents off balance. They are just so athletic. They run very well. They have excellent players and they are well coached."
On R.J. Anderson playing against Miami:
"He is in the deep end of the pool now. This will be a heck of an experience for him. He has had two solid games as a starter and this will be an excellent challenge for him."
On Miami flanker Santana Moss:
"Santana Moss is probably the most dangerous wide receiver in America. The guy can run by you and he runs by every team he plays. In every game he turns an eight-yard pass into a long gain. He excels at getting yards after the catch. In defending him, you are afraid he is going to run by you, so you give him a little cushion. He makes the catch in front of you and he still runs by you. I really don't know what you do to defend the guy."
On the Miami passing game:
"Along with Santana Moss, Reggie Wayne and Daryl Jones are excellent. Andre Johnson is fast and Andre King is a good wide receiver. Maybe the most underrated guy, who is starting to get some attention now, is Ken Dorsey. Dorsey is an excellent quarterback. This quarterback throws the ball as well as any of those Miami quarterbacks. He is very accurate and he has great awareness."
On the condition of DE Dwight Freeney:
"At this point he is questionable. They are still doing more testing to make sure that he is okay."
On the play of SU's secondary:
"The kids have done a good job of making sure that the mistakes we made against Cincinnati and East Carolina don't happen. We haven't really changed anything, we are just making sure that we execute. We have been challenged with the deep ball and I think we'll be challenged more this week."
