SU gained 386 total yards, 304 on the ground, while Buffalo gained 270 total yards, mostly through the air. Bulls quarterback Joe Freedy completed 16 of 36 attempts for 168 yards. Defensive backs Will Hunter and Quentin Harris added seven and six tackles respectively. Buffalo did have a chance to make it a game in the first quarter. Bulls' defensive back Noah Burroughs recovered a blocked punt on the Syracuse 35. The Bulls worked the ball to the Syracuse 10-yard-line before Will Allen blocked Scott Keller's field goal attempt. It was all Syracuse from that point on. Buffalo did manage to get on the board scoring a touchdown with 34 left seconds in the game. Freedy connected to wide receiver Dahnel Singfield and Keller added the extra point. Redshirt freshman quarterback R.J. Anderson entered his first collegiate game with 10:36 left to play in the third quarter. On his first and only pass Anderson launched a 57-yard bomb to Woodcock. The recepetion is the longest of Woodcock's career.
