Orangemen and Hoyas End in Scoreless Tie
9/22/2000 5:38:30 PM | Men's Soccer
The tie ended Syracuse's two-game losing streak, but the Orangemen have yet to net a goal in its last three games. The scoring drought is SU's longest since September of 1997 when the Orangemen dropped three consecutive shutouts.
Neither team was short on opportunities, as the Hoyas outshot Syracuse, 19-17. The Orangemen's best chance to score came in overtime when Guido Cristofori's (Fairport, NY) shot at the far corner was denied by Georgetown keeper Brian O'Hagan.
Syracuse keeper Kevin Bacher (East Meadow, NY) made a season-best 10 saves to pick up his second shutout of the season. O'Hagan made five stops for the Hoyas.
The Orangemen continue their BIG EAST road trip on Sunday with a game at West Virginia. Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
