Thompson, Schlosser Advance to Semifinals of Maryland Invitational

Thompson defeated Kari Olsen of William & Mary 7-6, 7-5 in the quarterfinal round of Flight C singles. The junior won her first-round match against Suzie Coggin of George Washington University, 6-3, 6-2.
Schlosser earned a first-round bye and defeated West Virginias Katherine Augustason, 6-1, 6-3, to earn a berth in the semifinal round.
One Syracuse doubles team advanced in the championship bracket. Seniors Michelle Neveklovska (West Vancouver, British Columbia) and Zuzanna Borucka (Gdansk, Poland) defeated Salas and Vaughn of Notre Dame 8-5 in the first round. The pair will play in Saturdays quarterfinals.
Syracuse continues play at the Maryland Invitational through Sunday.
