Bedard Garners ECAC Award

Bedard, a sophomore thrower, finished second and sixth in the shot put and 35-pound weight throw, respectively, at the U.S. Track Coaches Association Series meet at Penn State on Saturday, January 13. He established a personal best in the shot put with a throw of 52' 9.5", qualifying him for the IC4A Indoor Championship.
Bedard also has the Orangemen's longest weight throw of the season (53' 4.25"). He has qualified for the BIG EAST Indoor Championship in both the weight throw and the shot put.
Bedard is the second Syracuse track & field student-athlete to be honored by the ECAC in as many weeks. Junior sprinter Alison Culley was named the ECAC Division I Women's Track Athlete of the Week on January 9.
The Orange continues its season at the Virginia Tech Invitational on January 19-20 in Blacksburg, VA.
