Former Track & Field Athlete Elected to USATF Masters Hall of Fame

Former Orangemen track & field athlete Ed Lukens was elected to the USA Track & Field Masters Hall of Fame at the organization's Annual Meeting in Albuquerque, NM. Lukens was a four-time letterwinner at Syracuse from 1947-1950.
Lukens, a resident of Skaneateles, NY, has set world and American records in four different age categories (60-64, 65-69, 70-74 and 75-79) and in three different events (long jump, triple jump and 60-meter hurdles). He also set an American record in the high jump for the 70-74 age category. Lukens also competes in the pole vault.
Lukens, a retired teacher and coach, has placed in the top three of his age group in masters track & field championships 10 times. He has won several USATF individual titles, and has been the named the U.S.'s top male track or field athlete in his age group eight times.
