
Moore's 22 Points Off The Bench Powers SU Past Pittsburgh

The Orangewomen's bench play keyed their victory. The bench contributed 45 points, 17 rebounds and 10 assists.
Syracuse's offense was unselfish, tallying 23 assists on 24 field goals scored by the Orange. Starting point guard Jakia Ervin (Baltimore, MD) led all players in assists with six.
On defense, Syracuse used a 2-2-1 full-court press that dropped into a man-to-man defense past half court. The Orange forced 19 turnovers. The Panthers' 55 points ties for the second lowest point-total given up by the Orangewomen this season (55, at Long Island).
Moore moved into 11th place on SU's all-time scoring list. She now has 1,066 point and is three points shy of moving into a 10th-place tie with Chris Palombi at 1,069 points. By going 4-of-6 from the free throw line, Moore took sole possession of second place on the Orange's all-time free throws made list. Moore has 264 makes from the charity stripe. Sue Ludwig is the leader with 306.
The Orangewomen host number-one ranked and defending national champion Connecticut Huskies at 7 p.m. on Tues., Jan. 9. Advance tickets are on sale at the Carrier Dome box office.
