Masha Kabanova (Moscow, Russia/ School #528) and Daniela Kaluskova (Prague, Czech/ Gym Budejovicka) advanced in singles play. Kabanova defeated Stephanie Price of the University of Massachusetts, 6-0, 6-0. Kaluskova defeated Connecticut's Trinell Russel 6-1, 6-3.
In doubles play Kabanova and Shervin Saedinia (Woodland Hills, CA/ Calabasas) defeated Rhode Island's Ally Erasmous and Cynthia Taylor 8-4 in the first round. Kabanova and Saedinia won their second round match against Richmond's Jeannette Cluskey and Vanessa Bagnato, 9-7.
Kaluskova and Zani Suttle (Roswell, GA/ Centennial) made the doubles main draw even though they were not one of the four top teams from the qualifying draw on Friday. Kaluskova and Suttle made the main draw because other doubles teams dropped out of the competition. Taking advantage of the opportunity Kaluskova and Suttle won their first round match 8-6 against Danielle Hoch and Alice Sukner of Marshall. Kaluskova and Suttle lost their second round match, 8-6, to Yale's Liz Oosterhuis and Susie Hiniker.
