Johnson Honored by NACDA With Special Scholarship

NACDA selected one member of each team that participated in the 2001 Kickoff Classic and Pigskin Classic, the two NACDA-sponsored preseason football games, for the scholarship awards. The other winners were George Godsey (Georgia Tech), Bruce Roberts (TCU) and Dave Volk (Nebraska).
Johnson, who was an Arthur Ashe Scholar-Athlete from 1997 to 2000, was also a member of the 2000 American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Good Works Team. He was named to the Academic All-BIG EAST Team three times from 1997 to 1999 and has been on the SU Athletic Director's Honor Roll each semester. Johnson was also president of the SU Student-Athlete Council from 1998 to 2000.
Johnson and the Orangemen will return to action when they host West Virginia on Saturday, November 10 in the Carrier Dome. Kickoff is set for noon.
