
Parker Named 2001 Dita/NFHCA Mideast Region Coach of the Year

Syracuse head field hockey coach Kathleen Parker was selected as the 2001 Dita/NFHCA Mideast Region Coach of the Year as announced by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association on November 27. It is the second time Parker has been chosen for the honor. She won the same distinction in 1991.
Parker led the Orangewomen to a 16-4 overall record and a perfect 5-0 mark in the BIG EAST Conference. Syracuse captured the BIG EAST regular season and conference tournament titles and advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2001 NCAA Tournament. Parker was honored as the BIG EAST Conference Coach of the Year for her efforts. It was her fourth BIG EAST Coach of the Year citation.
A 24-year veteran field hockey coach at Syracuse, Parker owns a 267-165-14 career record (.614). She ranks sixth among active Division I coaches in career wins.
